What's New On Ithaca Greece
July 2022
Friday 15th - Forkys Theatre group had it's annual party at Loutsa Beach on Wednesday night. Looked like an enthusiastic crowd with dancing and a mix of music that reached back to Black Sabbath. below - Alexandros, one of the organizers from Ithaca's own theatre group.
Above - A full supermoon on Wednesday night.Below - Waiting for the ferry at the spanking new port at Aetos.
Below - Atokos under a golden light.
Below - Medousa Gifts and jewellery in Kioni.
Above - Kioni bayside. Below - Wreck with a view.
Above - Dinner at Agathi in Vathy was quite special. Thank you Fania and crew.
Sunday 17th - Hot Hot Hot days ahead. Most of Europe is scorching, so we're lucky we have sea all around us and an occasional sea breeze to cool us down.
Above and Below - Myrtia Restaurant in Filitou. I was lucky enough to be at the premier on Friday evening, and I can tell you without hesitation, the location is amazing, all the tables have a view, and of course, the food was delicious!
Below - What would Kioni, Kioni-ites and visitors to Kioni do without Pantopoleion mini market. It's been serving us for decades without fail. Now with Panos Moraitis running it over the past few years, with the help of Aleka, his mum, who was in charge so many years before, you can get just about anything you want or need, and if they don't have it, ask, and if at all possible, they'll order it in. More stocked than some supermarkets.
Above - In Vathy, there's no going past o Pantazis fruit and veg market. They also deliver drinks and other products to the north and south.
Below - Piso Aetos at afternoon ferry time. Both Levantes and Ionian Pelagos at the same time. Now that could never have happened before this port was remade.
Tuesday 19th - After a relatively quiet weekend, the beginning of the week starts off with a ferry load of visitors arriving, lots of yachts in the bay and activity everywhere, well nearly everywhere. Frikes seems a little quiet this year.

Some more pics from Forky's Beach party at Loutsa below.
Sunday 17th - Below - Amfitriti in Kioni. This family run jewellery and gifts store has been here for a long time. Call in and say hi. Have a look around. You won't be sorry.
Below - The super moon looking a little less full a couple of days after the stunning exposure. The best place to see a super moon rising is Kioni, when it comes up from behind the windmills, larger than life, it's spectacular.
Tuesday 19th - I still keep hoping Kioni will change it's mind and allow the Panighiri. We've all had such a hard time over the past couple of years, we really do deserve a good village party to celebrate our getting through it all. If the band is too expensive, let's use a playlist. Cheap.
