What's New On Ithaca Greece
July 2022
Friday 1st - Some days it feels like the middle of August, others, like change-over days, it's quiet like May. There are some big yachts in the harbours around the island, but those visitors rarely leave their luxury accommodations. I would hazard a guess they are most pandered to visitor to the island. The mountain goes to Mohamed. Below - All is quiet in the early mornings.
Saturday 2nd - Beaches are busy, bays are busy, get ready everyone, It's Summer!
Above - Polis, still run by Taki the beach manager. There have been reports of jelly fish around some of the beaches on Ithaca, but Polis was all clear, at least yesterday.
Monday 4th - A quiet weekend in the north with not too many yachts in the harbour. Changeover is always quiet, in the water and on the ground.
Below - The Summer heat cloud which collects over all the mountains at one time or another.
Below - A few jelly fish at Polis beach yesterday, so careful folks. Keep your eyes out.
In the mornings, the elderly go for their morning dips.
Above - Vathy Bay
Tuesday 5th - Last night the Ithaca Choir performed for the Kioni baysiders. Click Here or on photo below for more pics.
Thursday 7th - It's hot, hot, hot. That's it.
Sunday 10th - A bit of a cooler change yesterday, but not that much.
Wednesday 13th - So many yachts in Vathy, yet the cafes were almost empty from visitors. You would think that with such an influx, they would leave a positive impression, giving the island the economic burst it needs, but it doesn't seem like it. People choose instead to eat on board or buy something takeaway and and find a shady tree to eat it under.
Thursday 14th - A sneak peak at Mike Levendis Birthday party at Ag. Ioannis. If you're into jewellery you will know his name from the Levendi brand. His kind generosity has allowed us behind closed doors. Click Here or on photo below for some pics.

Summer on Ithaca Greece
Friday 1st
The word on the grapevine is that this Summer will have a whopping big explosion of visitors from all over the world as people shed their covid blues and get on with the business of living life. Holidays are always a huge part of this journey we all go through.
Saturday 2nd - Hot, hot more than not. It's get to the beach weather, whenever you get a spare moment. It's the only place to be in this Greek Summer weather.
Above - Overlooking Afales and Platrithia. Only a month into Summer and the landscape is already drying out and turning gold.
Monday 4th -
Tuesday 5th - Ithaca is now resembling what we all love about Ithaca and what we've always expected from our Ithacan Summers. Lots of happy people everywhere and the promise of a Festival to celebrate the season, family and friends, along with a few saints. It looks like the Panighiria will happen again this year, althought the Exoghi Festival is up in the air. There may be staff shortage which would determine whether it goes ahead or not. If you want it to, volunteer your services and make it happen! Everyone loves the Exoghi Panighiri, it would be a shame to let this one slide into obscurity when things have picked up so much.
Thursday 7th - Lots of people, lots of yachts. It's Summer so get your 'kefi' on.
Sunday 10th - Lots of people coming and going. It's already feeling like a boom year. I guess everyone is shaking off the covid blues and getting back into life, a life we've all missed and yearned for.
Wednesday 13th - Many of the familiar faces are back this year with Covid Restrictions eased. Australian/Greeks have had a difficult time getting in and out of their country the past 2 years.
