What's New On Ithaca Greece
May 2018
Tuesday 1st - Summer is here! Kalo Mina.
Wednesday 2nd - We better enjoy this fantastic weather before there's a change, and apparently there is one on the horizon at the end of the week with wind and rain forecast. Below - Raxi.
The annual trek up to Ag. Nikola chapel at Vigla was celebrated with food and wine. Click Here or on photograph above for more pics.
Friday 4th - Lizzy's in Kioni is open again for business and this year the upstairs restaurant is ready and waiting. This restaurant quickly gained a good reputation with it's friendly service.
Saturday 5th - The forecast has been wrong these past few days, but looks like this afternoon, the rainy weather we were awaiting on Thursday is finally making it's way to us now. The is sky looking quite ominous.
It's Forky's Theatre Group time again. This year it's the 'Oh Father, what a world!" featuring Ithaca's best and finest talent. You can see it next weekend - 11, 12 and 13th May at the Cultural Center in Vathy.
Friday 11th - Tonight is the Premier of Threepenny Opera at the Cultural center in Vathy. Head along for some Ithaki theater fun!
Above - Goats making themselves at home at the little chapel at the top of Piso Aetos.
Saturday 12th - Some stormy looking skies dominated yesterday, although nothing ever eventuated...well not yet at least.

Ionian island in Summer
Tuesday 1st
Today is the annual celebration at Vigla with locals and visitors making their way up the mountain by foot from Raxi village in the north of Ithaca.
Above - Ionian Pelagos.
Speaking of ferries, the Kefalonia ferry is in need of a fix. The fuel fumes seem to be filling up the interior cabins and are making some people quite a bit ill. Maybe the owners needs a little shove (gentle or not so gentle) to fix the problem. Somehow the fumes from the stack are being sucked inside, so I was told by one of the ferry staff.
Saturday 12th - Ithaca is probably one of the most beautifully green islands in Greece which has not been completely overrun. May is still quite sleepy and traditional.
