Lush and green rolling hills catch the golden rays of the last sun. What a difference a day makes. The road sign to Medea points left.  One day I'll head down that road, but today it's going in the wrong direction to our destination.  We're off towards Korinth where the road we'd avoided for the past 5 hours will finally await us. Until then, it's more beautiful scenery with the occasional ugly bits  That's ok too, because beauty is more appreciated when there's something to compare it to.

Above - Another mountain side bites the dust. The excavations choke everything in a kilometre radius. Foliage suffocated under centimetres of dirt and dust. Right - The nearer we get to Athens, the more ugly the bits become.  Refineries smell up the atmosphere along a dying coastline. Wind up the window and hold your breath. Below - Athens. Night falls and a day of driving ends.

3 1/2 hours on the ferry and around 6 hours in the car make a walk along Poseidonos Street in Paliofaliro a welcome change. Breathe in that exhaust, the diesel, get side-swiped by a speeding bus, get beeped by one car after another trying to cross the road, be deafened by traffic noise, get bowled over by pedestrians with tunnel vision, get pooped on by a poodle, step in the poop of a half breed (dog), eat an ice cream, walk on the road because the footpath is for parking, watch the sun go down over the bay, wonder if it will rain tomorrow, window shop cafes, get a phone card from the periptero, yawn, laugh, get sore feet, talk about the day, think about tomorrow, what day is it? Monday? Really? We've not even been gone a day and I'm already this tired?
