Opposite the Monastiraki Metro, the ancient Athens Library is now open for perusal. Old walls, tiles and arches for the avid sight-seer. Last time ithacagreece.com was in Athens, this site was still closed to the public. The ancient library is in the midst of asian jewellery stalls and souvenir vendors and has been under excavation for many, many years. Remember, Greek sites are free on Sundays during the off season months, don't expect them to be free during Summer.
