What's New On Ithaca Greece

Tuesday 13th - Hey everyone. You've probably been wondering why there have been no posts for almost over 3 weeks, well, firstly I've had a bad drug reaction which had me collapse and be very, very ill in the center of Athens during political rallies which had closed off all the streets into town, leaving me no way to get home. Thanks to a couple of Ithacan locals who were passing, I was helped during a very desperate time. There purely coincidentally. They didn't know eachother and helped me until there was a way to get off the street. Then if that wasn't enough, I got covid a few days later and have been very il with it up until now. Today I can breathe a little better again and have my eyes open for longer than a few minutes...thankfully. Hopefully this will now improve and I can get back to some normality. Thank you for your patience and messages of concern, also for your replies to the question whether continuing the NEW pages is still relevant or whether you'd prefer social media only. The consensus is New pages remain and I'll continue to post news and photos for as long as I have the energy and will to do it.
Thursday 15th - Mostly sunny days with mostly blue skies. The beaches are still quiet. It's not quite hot enough for some, to dive into the Ionian. Below Tsitsimida Beach just outside Raxi in the north of Ithaca.

Friday 16th - In all the years, over 20, that I've lived on Ithaca, I've never known it to rain, let alone have thunderstorms and lightning in the middle of June...basically the entire day. Feel a bit sorry for those who came off the boat this afternoon. Before the rain however, we have had some very nice weather.
Sunday 18th - The last couple of days have been quite disappointing, with rain and thunderstorms and even temperature drops that are very unusual for June.

Summertime on Ithaki
Tuesday 13th
It's been quite cloudy on and off, but temperatures are warm, mid 20's mostly. Still not alot of people around, but momemntum is building as we head deeper into the Summer months.
Thursday 15th - Half way through our first Summer month for the 2023 season already.
Friday 16th - After some initial rain early in the morning, the weather should even out again by lunchtime to give us what we expect at this time of year...blue skies and sunshine.
Sunday 18th - Some days are busy, some are quiet. Weekends are usually quite a bit quieter than through the week. Flotillas seem ot make up the majority of tourism at this time of the year, and they stop over the weekend.
