Sunday 15th - After some rain, it's all cleared up again, but Summer does feel over and Autumn is taking hold. Below - Looking across the Kefalonia Strait toward Sami.

Thursday 20th - Some important news is that Ithaca finally has a new ambulance, donated by R Energy. The old one was more of a hinderance than a help. The new ambulance will do alot to make locals feel a little more confident when ill, but I wonder who could donate a building and facilities for an aged care center on the island.

Wednesday 26th - Nearly the end of another month as we edge close to the holiday season. With new roads across the island, it's making traveling less bumpy and a whole lot safer. Below - Ag. Ioannis from the road to Anoghi.
Above and Below - People have been discovering Anoghi over the past couple of months, not only as a unique place to visit, but also for an affordable way into the property market on Ithaca. You can get some big views from there and of course the local cafe/restaurant is a favourite for locals and visitors from all over the world.
Above - The beach-goers may be missing from Polis, but on a sunny day, you can't go past the views and the water. Below - It may be a shack, but it's a shack with electricity.
Friday 28th - Oxy Day celebrations around Greece today, and that includeds Ithaca. Pics coming up. Meanwhile, this public holiday, fine weather day, is perfect for exploring the island.

Autumn on Ithaca Greece
Sunday 15th
You know Summer is over when Polis Beach has all the sun lounges packed away and the beach manager, Taki, has bid the beach goodbye for another season.
Above - Stavros is very quiet now the season wraps up.
Thursday 20th - Ithaca views.
Wednesday 26th - Ithaca was lucky not to have any fires through this past season and our dedicated fire-fighting volunteers make sure we keep it that way.

Above - It's such a shame to see these old buildings deteriorate over the years. When I first came to Greece in '83, I had dinner in the house on the left.
