What's New On Ithaca Greece
June 2022
Wednesday 1st - With Rementzo in Frikes closed, the village seems very quiet, but there is a new place in town called Arkeisios where we tried a hamburger from their menu. It's basically a bar and cafe but do have club sandwiches and hamburgers through brunch lunch. I was served by Panoghiti. Friendly and accommodating with my allergies. I'll definitely hang out there more. Find a table under the shade of the tree looking out to the bay.
Thursday 2nd - Below - Arkeisios, the new bar and cafe in Frikes.
Above - Lakis from Kohili Restaurant in Vathy.

Saturday 4th - If you haven't been to Ithaca for awhile, which many haven't, you'll notice alot more shops open on the shorefront and in the back streets. There's such a great selection of all kinds of gifts and jewellery and clothing.

Above - Pandazis Vegetable and Fruit market is always buzzing with shoppers.

Tuesday 7th - We've been having record high temperatures this past week for this early in June. Yesterday a forecast 34C, but it felt like 38C. It's supposed to cool down sometime today and I think everyone is hoping for a little cool change. Not too big. Swimming has started early with this heatwave.
Below - You have an invitation to GAIA. So happy to see a health food shop on Ithaca. Some very delicious alternatives to the chemically charged fast food we have become accustomed to, but our bodies, not so much. You can find location and more details here: https://www.ithacagreece.com/gaia/gaia.html
Thursday 9th - Summer is here early with high temperatures and still, warm seas.
Above - A canoe stop in Kioni.
Monday 13th - It's the Pentecost and the Monday of the Holy Spirit public holiday in Greece. Now that's a mouthful, but it's a day off for many, some of those, coming to Ithaca for this long weekend.
