What's New On Ithaca Greece
July 2020
Tuesday 14th
With all the major events and festivals cancelled for this season, it's maybe time to just enjoy nature and it's magnificent beauty along with the company of locals and friends. Ithaca has so much natural beauty to offer, and a sea that is calm and inviting. Lots of things that do you good at this time.
Friday 17th - This Sunday, Rementzo Restaurant in Frikes begins it's 'Greek Brunch' with Loukoumades, compote fruit and home made pies.
Above - Nice to see our favourite Spaniard, living in Paris, sailing the Ionian back with his visitors. Hello Juan! Below - As locals begin to feel more and more safe in their environment, more people are venturing back to the outdoors to see friends and neighbours.
Sunday 19th - The little Ag. Sarantas corner shop is missed, but with the last earthquake it rendered it a little unsafe to inhabit. Hopefully the owner will get the work done that it needs. It's been a tradition in the north for many decades.
Above - Margarita Cafe also known as the Zac or Zacharoplasteio, is a Stavros icon. So many generations have enjoyed snacks and drinks and company around these tables.
Below - Kanenas Restaurant, a veritable newbie to the village of Stavros, quickly gained a great reputation for great food at good prices with friendly service.
Tuesday 21st - Last Sunday night a very special performance took place right in the Cantina of Dexa Beach. Click Here or on photograph below to find out more.
Above - The fabulous new Cantina at Filiatro Beach outside of Vathy.
Friday 24th - It's starting to look alot more like Summer on our (don't want to jinx it but...) covid free island.
Monday 27th - Nearly the end of another month and with restrictions mostly easing around the globe, we will start to see even more people coming to Ithaca. This year though, the majority of our visitors will be Greek. Below - Frikes.
