What's New On Ithaca Greece
November 2019
Friday 1st
The weather has finally turned a little, with rain and thunderstorms and cooler temperatures, yet some establishments are confirming there are still people eating out and in the streets, even this late in the season.
Sunday 3rd - More thunderstorms underway for our part of the world. They get so wild sometimes, they scare the pets. Until then, here's a pic to remember sunshine until they pass on Tuesday. Below - Afales.
Now that Summer is over, keep your eye on the ferry timetables as the times will be changing. You can check on How To Get There.
Tuesday 5th - Looks like November will be remembered as the stormy month. Lots of rain and thunderstorms on this side of Greece, but they look spectacular as they head over the Ionian sky towards Ithaca.
Friday 8th - Already through the first week of November and the weather is showing us it's wild side just in time for the winter months. In the Ionian it's nothing like the wild weather else where, here it's actually quite mild. The Aegean side really rumbles and roars, heaving it's sea into some awesome fury.
Above - Dawn hours after a storm. Below - Two days later, another comes in with the most spectacular electrical storm to have hit the island in many, many years.
Above - The final stages of the Piso Aetos port.
Sunday 10th - With more thunderstorms ahead next week, we will make the most of the bits of sunshine available to us.
Tuesday 12th - Mostly rainy day today with more storms coming our way.
Above - Polis Bay. Rain might interrupt the sunshine, but look how lush and green Ithaca is becoming from such deep nourishment of the soil.
