What's New On Ithaca Greece
February 2019
Sunday 3rd
Thursday 7th - Some sunnier skies today, but it has been a grey January and early Feb this year as you can see below. Although we all prefer sunshine, stormy days can also be beautiful with the dramatic skies over the Ionian.
Monday 11th - It's been a wet winter so far, but the temperatures haven't been as low as expected for this time of year. Ithaca joins the rest of the world in higher than normal temperatures.
Wednesday 13th - If you haven't checked, the Patras ferry, Andreas Kalvos from the IOnian Group, started last Friday. Word is it's a bit of a slow ride, but no one's complaining. We're all very happy to have this route re-instated. It makes traveling to Patras and Athens so much easier.
Carnival time is nearly upon us again. Fun and colour. Celebrations start this weekend with the Treasure Hunt on the 17th.
Below - Works continue on Piso Aetos port.
Friday 15th - Already half way through February. Soon we'll be in Carnival season with lots happening again. Meanwhile we have some sunny weather to enjoy.
Above and Below - Around Afales way heading toward Marmaka.
Above and Below - Sunset view to Polis Bay.

Wintertime on Ithaca Greece
Sunday 3rd -
WE HAVE LIFT OFF!!!!!!!!!! The Patra - Ithaca route has been re-established. See timetable on How To Get There for timetables.
As every year, Papadis was celebrated in Kioni with a liturgy. Some pics opposite.
Everyone's talking about how wet and cold it's been, with February still ahead and traditionally the coldest month of winter, we wonder how much more rain we will get.
Thursday 7th - The Patra ferry was supposed to start on the 4th Feb, but there has been some hiccup which has not been made clear. The route is on the company timetable, but so far no ferry to Patra.
Monday 11th - Forkys, Ithaki's Theatre Group is finishing off rehearsals for this years performance of Churches, directed by Pericles Vassilopoulos with music by Giorgos Diplas.
Wednesday 13th -
