Tuesday 2nd - The Marida festival has been postponed until the 6th October due to some EU fishing regulations to do with both marida and sardines. Weather permitting though, it will happen on the 6th.

Friday 5th - With the threat of rain on Sunday, the Stavros community has decided to change the Marida Festival date back to the 6th October. I hope they don't change their minds again.

Sunday 7th - Yesterday, Stavros held it's annual Marida Festival down at Polis Bay. This year it was postponed 1 week due to fishing regulations and then also weather concerns, but as it turned out, it was a perfect weather day for this annual Sardine Festival. Thursday 11th - Fine weather continues through the beginning of this month. Lots of yachts still coming into the harbours around the island and the 'Off Season Holidayers' enjoying the various walking trails in the north and south of Ithaca Greece.

Friday 12th - We couldn't ask for better October weather. It's just perfect. With the amount of yachts still sailing into our harbours, I think they think so too.

Over the past couple of months, I've had the entire ithacagreece website with it's thousands of pages, updated and converted to https, which is the secure online address, something that Google has initiated and will impact ranking on search engines ultimately if not done. Wednesday 17th - Down at Piso Aetos, works are going on in ernest at the port. Hopefully this time there won't be a stalemate and the port will finally be finished without anymore bad money management by the company undertaking it. A nice port will be of great benefit to Ithaki and visitors won't be stunned or wary when they arrive. Piso Aetos port has not been indicative of how beautiful or inhabited the island is.

Thursday 11th - September may have been a bit 'iffy' but October has turned out to be a treat for all those lucky enough to be on the island now. The weather is absolutely perfect!
