January 2023
| Monday 15th - It's been the quietest winter on Ithaca so far with so many people having left the island for either a holiday or staying on the Mainland through winter.
| Wednesday 18th - Temperatures have unexpectedly gone up again as we near the finish of this 3rd week of January. Below - Stavros.

| Sunday 22nd - Thunderstorms have been dominating our weather forecast, but with sunny breaks.
| Tuesday 24th - We've had some stormy and rainy days lately, but today there's a break. Still cloudy, but mostly dry.
Friday 27th - Yesterday phones signalled loudly across Greece warning of horrific weather conditions. Storms and rain for most of the country. Looks like winter is finally here. We've had such unseasonally mild temps so far.
| Tuesday 31st - Goodbye January! Still very quiet on the island so not much to report. There is wind coming and our media savvy Mayor is rallying up support from the government to get things done that the island needs. Of course it's flu season and that mixed with the big C, people are masking up again, but let's hope we have enough herd immunity against all the nasties in our environment that we don't make the common cold, uncommon with the lack of exposure due to masking and extreme sanitizing. A strong immune system is an immune system that knows how to fight and doesn't take any rest days.

Monday 15th
It's goodbye for another year to Christmas decorations as the tree in the square comes down.
| Wednesday 18th - ithacagreece.com needs a new home on Ithaca. We've only been given a couple of months to move out after 19 years, and as many of you who know Ithaca will know, long term rentals are extremely rare to find. We are getting a bit desperate now having followed every lead and still no luck with owners preferring airbnb over long term rentals. I'm sending out a call for anyone who has a weather proof house with heating (for winter) who is willing to long term rent and give ithacagreece.com a home to contact us. We have to be out at the busiest time of year and without a home, we can't work. Feeling a bit desperate now. The landlords won't give us more time as they want a relative to live in the house for a year.

| Tuesday 24th - Already into the last week of January. It's been pretty quiet on the island. Alot of people elsewhere, but as we go deeper into this year, locals will return to their fine day residences.
| Friday 27th - Rain, rain and rain.
| Tuesday 31st - When the sun comes out so do the locals.
