What's New On Ithaca Greece
September 2022
Thursday 1st - Kalo Mina to everyone. Here we are again on the last stretch of the Summer season. A very successful one for most of the businesses on Ithaca, now if only the government would invest in more than just making roads (after the road to Kioni is fixed) so that the council can spend some money on infrastructure to accommodate this new found popularity of Ithaca. Below - Kathara Monastry.
Below - To Commemorate the 100 year anniversary of the refugees that came to ithaca from Asia Minor, Forkys Theatre Group with the co-operation of Xarilaos Tsigonias presented dances from that era in the village square in Vathy. Click Here or on photo below for more.
Friday 2nd - A definite change in the weather with cooler nights and cloudier skies now. The north seems noticeably more quiet, but the south still seems to be pumping on some nights.
Saturday 3rd - A cool weather change yesterday with some storms, wind and rain. Nothing that lasted too long, but it did bring about a cooler night. Below - Boating around Afales.
Above - Platrithia in the north of Ithaca. Below - Loutsa.
Below - Nostimo restaurant. Once Rementzo.
Above - Early evening swims are quite popular after a hot day. Below - Stormy weather brough some wind and waves into Vathy Bay.
Wednesday 7th - Fine weather again, but as we head into Autumn there'll be a few more rain clouds threatening rain and the occasional storm.
Monday 12th - There is a hint of Autumn in the air in the early moring and evenings. Summer slowly winding down even if the days are still quite warm and the beaches fairly populated.
