What's New On Ithaca Greece
January 2022
Saturday 1st - It's been a very difficult 2 years and everyone is hopeful that 2022 will take more than just a little pressure off. Let's hope the governments around the world honour that hope with what they promise and have promised so we can all get on with enjoying life again instead of fearing death. Life is in the detail, sometimes we have to look a little harder to see it, but there are wonderful moments, views and friendships to enjoy even when things are tough. Happy New Year!
Sunday 2nd - We hope everyone had a great New Year's Eve. In Greece it wasn't allowed, so we have to make do with beautiful vistas.
Monday 3rd - Below - A birdseye view of Stavros from the path to Roussano.
Thursday 6th - Unfortunately Epiphany celebrations have been cancelled due to Omikron.
Saturday 8th - Looks like our Indian Summer may be coming to an end with a more overcast day today and rainy weather predicted over the coming week. It was nice while it lasted.

Wednesday 9th - Below - Exoghi with Afales below before the weather turned to winter again.
Saturday 15th - It's cold! It's winter! and this is Exoghi.
Sunday 16th - It's hard to understand what goes on in the rest of the world when living on the Ithaki bubble, luckily mainstream news is there to remind us, otherwise we'd be enjoying the scenery, watching fauna and admiring the flora instead of tv.
Wednesday 19th - Some nice days lately and not too cold either. Sunny days.
Friday 21st - Making the most of sunny days is the best feeling during the winter months.
Monday 24th - It's forecast to snow on the mainland and it's so cold here, who knows what we might wake up to these coming few days. Brrr!
Thursday 27th - It's cold but the skies are blue. Who could ask for more in winter, especially when mainland greece suffered under a unusually heavy snow fall which stopped Athens, among other places, in its tracks for the past couple of days.
Below - Anoghi. It's easy to forget about this mountain village, but there's alot to love here.
Saturday 29th - It's raining and cold today, but this past week hasn't been too bad as far as the skies are concerned.

HAPPY NEW YEAR
Saturday 1st
The winter chill has gripped the island now, but hopefully we'll have more sunny days ahead to warm our spirits.
Sunday 2nd - Below - View to Atokos island.
Monday 3rd - Even the goats are becoming more camera aware.
Thursday 6th - We've had some very fine weather this past week. Blue skies, warm sunshine. Just fantastic.
Saturday 8th - We hope you've had a good start to the new year. There's been hope and hopes dashed, more worry and fear, but here on Ithaca it feels very protected from all of that.
Wednesday 9th - The backstreets of Vathy reveal a time long gone.
Saturday 15th - Below - Vathy
Sunday 16th - Already half way through January and with the world in varying stages of being upside down, it's a comfort to be on Ithaca.
Wednesday 19th - Looks like Ithaca is catching up somewhat with the rest of the world with recycling bins finally making their way to the island. All recycling goes to Kefalonia, from there, who knows.
Friday 21st - Heading into the last week of January with some fine winter weather.
Monday 24th - Nearly the end of our first month into 2022. We've been lucky to have some fine..ish weather these past few weeks, but it's sure cold now and winter is at the door.
Thursday 27th - The fine weather gives a good opportunity to fix the bay wall which was dismantled through last year's flooding.

Saturday 29th - Continuing through Anoghi because it always gets a bit left out during the summer season.
