What's New On Ithaca Greece
November 2021
Monday 1st
We've had some very fine weather again just like predicted. A little chillier and now early darkness again with daylight savings finished with for another year. Below - Pilikata views.
Wednesday 3rd - Some rain passing through, but it's only temporary with higher than usual temps expected over the next few days as southerly winds blow our way.
Above - It's not unusual for Exoghi to be immersed in low cloud. It feel other worldly sitting in the sky.
Saturday 6th - We're enjoying a Indian summer in much of Greece and blue skies aren't evading Ithaca either. Just perfect. Below - Some Mavrona Bay views in the north of the island.
Saturday 13th - After a couple of days of ferry strikes, everything is back to running for the weekend.
Monday 15th - The sunshine is gone for the time being, but we had a nice run. Overcast skies may be ahead, but that's perfect weather for olive picking.
Wednesday 17th - You can hardly tell Ianos swept through and almost devastated the seaside village of Frikes last year. The community pulled together with the help of donations from all over the world to get everything back to working order.
Friday 19th - Some rainy days and for the unvaccinated, some dark days too. Barred from all indoor spaces. Negative tests no longer count. Also if you're 7 months out from being vaccinated, the booster is mandated to keep the vaccinated status. If you're coming to Greece keep abreast of local restrictions.
Above - Ithaca is deep into the olive harvest.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Monday 1st
With daylight savings over, we're officially into Winter. I have a feeling the weather will be much finer than October. A good thing too for the olive harvest.
Wednesday 3rd - Winer bloom.
Saturday 6th - Sunny blue sky days again.
Saturday 13th - Below - Vathy Bay.
Monday 15th - Already mid way through November. Time is flying by.
Wednesday 17th - Unfortunately, this old house was hit hard by Ianos last year, caving in on itself, losing it's roof and some of the walls.
Friday 19th - You never know what you'll find in the paddocks around the island.
