Saturday 1st
Fireworks and church bells ringing marks Greece's big Easter weekend. Despite the strict restrictions the Greek population is under, Easter will be celebrated one way or another. It is the biggest holiday of the year.

HAPPY GREEK EASTER
Sunday 2nd - Happy Greek Easter to all who celebrate it. There'll be fun, food, wine and dance even with the very strict restrictions on numbers and movement and of course curfew. Last night fireworks lit up the sky all over Greece from 9pm until way after midnight and today, GR Easter Sunday, the usual fire crackers to scare the bejeebie out of everyone. Unfortunately, there is no special page again this year, but you can always look back on Easter archives of the past from the 'Archives' link above (orange).

Tuesday 4th - There seemed to be quite a bit of 'letting hair down' for this year's Easter Sunday, but for various reasons we can't show you. When everyone is allowed to be themselves again and Greece is able to celebrate without fear of consequences or illness, then Easter will be back in the 'Specials' section. For now you can look back at the archives, imagine us all a little older and reminisce Easters of old. Sorry. For now I hope you'll be able to enjoy the views around Ithaca Greece.

Wednesday 5th - For some chrome users on pc, google seems to be showing the cache (the last time you viewed the page) If you've already seen what you see on this webpage, please reload/refresh your page so you can override the cache and see what's actually new. I try to upload new photographs and news every couple of days at least, if not every day.
If you're planning to travel tomorrow, please remember there is a national transport strike which includes the ferries to Ithaca.
Monday 10th - As restrictions lift little by little in time for Greece to open it's borders to tourism on the 15th, shops are beginning to get ready while appointment for the click in and click away are still mandatory until the 14th and leaving house cannot happen without sending an sms with one of the 6 choices for being able to leave. There are people beginning to swim and enjoy the life Greek islands afford, but there are still many more too afraid to leave their homes. Let's hope Summer brings more than just sunshine back into our lives.

Tuesday 12th - Fine, fine weather and people are out and about again at the cafes around the island. So nice to see. Travel restrictions for nationals will be lifted on the 14th of May, the day before Greece opens up to non essential traveling visitors. Click away and click in should also be stopping then (finally) and no more sms sending to gov site before leaving the house.

Saturday 1st
After a very, very long month of being ill
Sunday 2nd - A partly cloudy day with some sunshine is forecast, but it could be all cloud or all sun too as all the weather apps say different things. Best thing to do is look out the window. Looks fine to me.

Tuesday 4th
Above - Luckily the Kiosks have been able to withstand the pressures of lockdown.
Wednesday 5th - National transport strike tomorrow. No ferries, however Spring is in full bloom and there's no stopping it now.
Monday 10th - On Ithaca, businesses have been luckier than many in the cities, after 6 and half months of the 2nd strict lockdown.
Tuesday 12th - You know Summer is pretty close when the thistles take over the fields. Hope there's enough money in everyone's kitty to strim before fire season starts.
