What's New On Ithaca Greece
March 2021
Monday 1st
Unfortunately ithacagreece.com camera has done it's dash. Gone past the recommended useby date, but finally came to an end. New camera on it's way this week.
Friday 5th - Unfortunately, instead of coming out of the lockdown as forecast, Greece has gone into even stricter restrictions for March. 2km limit on any travel, excercise can only be reached by foot, no vehicles and many more squeezes.
Sunday 7th - Through the first week of March and we're still where we were last year in regard to lockdowns, except for Greece, in 2021 it's worse in every way. It's always 'the next 15 days are critical' and 15 turned to 30, to 60, to 90, to 120, to 150, heading to 180 and 210. Still we're hopeful that all will be well again with the world because that's what's innate in us human beings.
Above - On this day in 2018, Ithaca looked like this.
Monday 8th - Below - View across over Raxi.
Tuesday 9th - While Ithaki awaits all the legalities and formalities for the reparation of the Aetos section of the main road, which connects north with south, Ithaca is taking it in it's own hands and building a bypass section so that the island can, for now, be reconnected again.
Thursday 11th - Sometimes the bubble that we live in on Ithaca is popped, but we are very lucky to be living here.
Saturday 13th - Not many people around with the travel limit restrictions, so we'll continue with inanimate objects.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Monday 1st
After more and more testing for covid, of course there are more and more cases on Ithaca, but no serious illness as far as I know.
Friday 5th
With the limit on travel being strictly enforced, even on Ithaca with police from Kefalonia here almost daily, opportunities for photo ops are limited for the time being. You can always reminisce through the archive link above (in the organge) There are so many great memories there.
Sunday 7th - Signs of Spring all around us now.
Monday 8th - Works on the bypass road at Aetos has started. Hopefully that will return the south/north connection back to normal. If you're asking why not just fix the road, well, by the time surveys and studies are done, money is released from the coffers, who knows how long that will take. The bypass road will take as long as it takes to build.
Tuesday 9th - We hope everyone is coping through these difficult times. Wishing you all the best and patience. Here's a little Kioni.
Thursday 11th
Saturday 13th - We're having some nice weather as we head deeper into Spring. Nights are still chilly.
