What's New On Ithaca Greece
May 2020
Friday 1st
In a few days Greece's restrictions will start to be lifted, with new ones coming into effect in regard as to how the lifting will need to look.
Sunday 3rd - Below - Social distancing Ithaki style. Tomorrow we start our way back from covid19 restrictions with the first steps out of lockdown.
Tuesday 5th - Considering the restrictions were in the first stage of lifting, Ithaca was surprisingly quiet yesterday, but still beautiful.
Wednesday 6th - Already through the first week of May, in a lost month of a lost year. Ithaca, even with the lifting of restrictions, will be doing it hard this year. The requirements for the tourist industry to work is prohibitive in many ways and some restraurants and accommodations will stay closed this year.

Above - Looking down on Kioni from the old Kioni road.
Friday 8th - It's still very quiet around the island as the locals become comfortable getting out and about again. It's amazing what a few weeks in isolation can do to the psyche. We did manage to see some people getting ready for the season that's trying to be.
Sunday 10th - Local businesses are hoping that getting their businesses ready will not be in vain as it is still up in the air when visitors will be allowed onto the island, and even when Greece lifts that restriction, the countries from where they are travelling will have their own restrictions on whether they can travel or not and when. Everything is up in the air.
Thursday 14th - With the first stage of restrictions lifted, more and more people are beginning to ease their way out of the safety of their homes now. It's starting to look like Ithaca again.
