What's New On Ithaca Greece
June 2019
Friday 7th
First week of June nearly over. Time is flying by. We're finally expecting the hot weather that is usual for this time of year. Everyone here is welcoming the sunshine. The storms forecast didn't eventuate. Businesses on the island were very happy about that. With so many visitors around, this isn't a good time for a drenching. Below - Polis Bay.
Below - Vathy. The clouds over Mt. Niritos looked threatening, but although they puffed out, they soon dissipated as the day progressed.
Below - The Maritime - Folklore Museum in Vathy.
At certain times of the day, locals are obscurred by the visitors coming off the Day Trippers.
Sunday 9th - It's all about the strange cloud over the Ionian yesterday.
Monday 10th - After all of Ithaca wondering what had happened to Summer with cooler than usual temperatures for April and May, suddenly, a few days ago, Summer haet hit with a vengeance, taking us from 20 C to 30 C plus overnight.
You are invited to join Ithaca’s inaugural Paint The Lyric exhibition + arts festival, September 2019.
The Contest is inspired by Homer’s epic story The Odyssey: a tale of heroes, mythical monsters, epic battles, love and passions, deceit and intrigue. Homer’s lyrics invite you to travel with them and live your own Odyssey to discover your own Ithaca. The challenge to you is to take these magical scenarios and bring them to life in any way you choose, give them colour and a new perspective - your own. Through this journey we can redefine ourselves and our creativity, share ideas and create a team project.
