What's New On Ithaca Greece

Tuesday 1st HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!!!!
The weather may be a bit rugged and ragged to start the New Year on Ithaki, but we believe 2019 will be another great year for us all. Be safe and happy!
Wednesday 2nd - Mostly cloudy today, but more rain expected tomorrow and through to the end of the week. No suprises here. It's winter afterall.
Thursday 3rd - It's wet and it's cold. It's winter on Ithaca Greece.
Saturday 5th - Snow on Ithaki yesterday, even down to Stavros! Pics of that later if it hasn't all melted, but first, snow in Anoghi and across to the mountain tops of Lefkada.
Sunday 6th - Today was a very cold Epiphany. No one braved the icy conditions to retirieve the cross from the water, but we still have a few pics to share with you from the Frikes ceremony. CLICK HERE or on photograph below for more.
Friday 11th - Good news for Ithaki and Kefalonia with Ionian Ferries once more taking on the Patras route now that they have received a grant to help accommodate the need for residents of both islands. I believe the date is the 15th January.
Monday 14th - It's very quiet around the island whether north or south, so not much news to tell.
Wednesday 16th - Clear sky's and sunny on Ithaki. Brisk and cold. IONION Pelagos LINES announces that in cooperation with the Municipality of Messolonghi, the ferry boat ITHAKI DAIAMONT will commence daily routes from May 2019 linking the city of Mesolongi with the islands of Kefalonia and Ithaca. The company has already filed the relevant paperwork.

Winter on Ithaca Greece
Tuesday 1st - Happy New Year!!!!
Wednesday 2nd - Snow on the Lefkada peaks. Yes it's cold. Some colder fronts passing over Greece.
Ithaca is a very quiet place right now. Not much going on. New Years in the north was quiet and layed back, in the south a little more acitivity with more residents around.
Thursday 3rd - Wild weather on Ithaca, but the cats and dogs are ok about it.
Saturday 5th - Feels like the depths of winter at the moment. Snow all around us but there is some more sunshine on the horizon says the weather man.
January 11th - The snow has settled longer in Exoghi than elsewhere, but generally, the weather has improved with higher temps these past couple of days.
Monday 14th - Ithaca is green and llush during winter.
Tuesday 15th - A totally new holiday activity will be operational this coming season. This a first for Ithaca. An organised horse riding activity in Anoghi, with trails and guides will be incorporated with a farm with a variety of live stock, where adults and children can experience some aspects of farm life. Other facilities available on the property are a children's playground, basket ball court and a football oval, also an area for snacks and refreshments. Keep tuned as we near the 2019 Summer Season.
Wednesday 16th - Some very cold nights ahead.
