The second night of the Stavros Panighiri is always a little quieter and less attended than the first, but in some ways, it's even nicer coming out on the second night. Everyone is so much more relaxed. The atmosphere is more easy going and of course, there's much less likely to be a squeeze in the dance circle...Not a chance. The second night of the Stavros panighiri was quiet to begin with, but around midnight, began to heave and throb just like it was the first night, at least around the dance circle. Those who wanted a birdseye view, headed to Ithaki restaurant on the balcony, where all of Stavros unfolds below, others hid out at Sunset Cafe or Margarita Cafe, for a place to catch their breath, others avoided the line at the souvlaki stand and headed straight for Yiannis Taverna. All of Stavros was alive and pumping, not just the village square. Again, it was a bit windy and quite a bit cooler too than what we are used to at this time of year, but still, a pleasant night enjoyed by all.
