Athens - Archaeological Museum Escaping Ithaki and following the tourist trail |
Patission/October Street in Athens isn't just a great shopping strip, the seed of the downfall of the Dictatorship or the road to Galatsi, but it's also the place of the Archaeological Museum of Athens, where everything that hasn't been pillaged by others, for the most part the Brits, is exhibited. The gigantic columns outside, protect and keep some wonderful treasures of Ancient Greece behind them. The diverse collection of pieces inside conjure up ancient life through the evidence remaining of this era, made great by the Greeks. It's a Museum that needs time to peruse and explore. Leave yourself hours. |
