It was a shame that this year's Carnival was interrupted by bad weather, needing to be postponed. Unfortunately, not all who would have participated last Sunday, turned up for today, leaving only the primary school children to celebrate Carnival. I believe some of the high school kids may have been held off from joining in as this postponed Carnival, now landed in the 40 days of Lent. Personally, seeing carnival is a pagan ritual, if it is wrong to do it in the 40 days of Lent, religiously speaking, then, it should probably be wrong to do anywhere during the calendar year. I think Carnival has long past the pagan status and is now clearly in our yearly cycle. Was a shame that all the work put into the Floats and costumes went to waste this year.
Despite many of the participants of Carnival being absent, it was actually a really great afternoon. No rain, quite a mild temperature and alot of very colourful fun. The kids had great fun. So did the parents and families. Was pleased that the Council made Vathy available for this limited Carnival. It was definitely worth having. I was too lazy to choose which photos stay and which photos go, so I have pretty much included most of the photos taken. 2 pages of photos in fact. Here's to the Carnival parade!
