By the time it came around to parade the Epitaph around the bay-side, the wind was too strong and extinguished all the candles set around it to illuminate it, leaving this traditional parade in the dark. The Epitaph and the congregation following it, were occasionally lit up by the camera flashes going off all the way to the pier and back to the church again. |

Each year the pilgrimage to Kioni for the Good Friday liturgy and the ritual burning of Judas, builds in size. This year again, the attendance was huge. The church was so full, that the donation box would definitely have benefited with each member of the congregation buying a candle to light. Those waiting outside were a little chilled to the bone due to a cold wind blowing. |
