Yesterday was another great day around the island with many boats sailing the calm waters of the Ionian. Before late afternoon, many of them will sail into one of the bays around Ithaki. |

Tue 17 July - Many more people in the streets these past few days. July 15th each Summer seems to be the line drawn between pre-season and full season. |

Wed 18 July - Yesterday in Exoghi, was the first big Panighiri of the season. A sultry night, where this mountain village was warmer than the low-lands by about 7 degrees. The thermometer read 30.5 C at 11pm and it wasn't about to get any cooler with the KEFI (Good Cheer) and enthusiasm for dancing, that filled the Exoghi village Square. The Panighiri band, (really great by the way) with a couple of new faces, really kept the atmosphere alive, so much so, that these hills were still alive with the sound of music at 4.30am. Sat 21 July - Right - Maki and Maria from Margarita Cafe in Stavros take a coffee break in Kioni for the Panighiri with their children and Makis sister, Anita and her 2 daughters. |
Mon 23 July - Below - Twilight in Frikes. When you see people roaming around in this usually sleepy little village it can only mean one thing. The Summer Season is pumping up. |
