Petros and Maria

Petros and Maria are well established Kioni locals who have retired on Ithaca after many years working and living in Athens.  Petros was a teacher in Athens, but was born in Lefkada, while Maria is a Kioni girl through and through.

Every Sunday Maria comes down from the hill with her sister to socialize in the village, but Petros' routine brings him down to Spavento Bar every day for his Greek coffee and a twirl of the worry beads. They work hard on their gardens and maintaining their old stone house which stands proud on the hill over looking the bay of Kioni.  They are aunt and uncle to the Moraitis and Vlassopoulos clan and put on the best lunches in Kioni for their large extended family.
