Perahori Wine Festival 2016 on Ithaca Greece

The minute you drove into the village of Perahori, you could hear the music from the Wine Festival blow around our ears with the breeze. Perahori, the mountain villae in the south of Ithaca still had a warm 28C degrees at around 11.30pm. A lovely mild night for this annual celebration of the local wine.

The road up the very, very steep hill to get to the festival always makes my legs burn, but at the same time, is invigorating and so comforting when the climb stops. Imagining old ladies heading up and down this road to go to the bakery, makes me admire their stamina, and feel a little feeble to them in comparison.
