Kathara panighiri this year, seemed to be a very popular place to go. There were more people around the Monastery than I've ever seen before. Many came up with their padded jackets, expecting a chill, but it was quite a mild night which made it a very pleasant place to be. |

Even once the party had started, the church service continued and the Kiosk with religious memoriabilia was doing a bumper business. |

Years ago, locals would make their way up to the Monastery at Kathara by foot or donkey and would stay the night, drinking and celebrating with the priests who lived there. Nowdays, the Monastery isn't so populated, but the tradition continues. |
