The village of Exoghi which means 'out of this world' and overlooks both Frikes and Afales bays and across much of the northern island of Ithaca in Greece. Fassoulou's Cottage is situated at the edge of a this traditional village and affords panoramic views across the aqua waters of Afales below and further toward to the Ionian islands of Lefkada, Meganissi, Kalamos, Arkoudi and Atokos. Fassoulou's Cottage will provide a peaceful retreat for your Greek Island holiday and a traditional experience and insight rarely available in today's fast paced holiday packages.
The cottage name was taken from the widow who once owned the cottage. She was called 'The Bean Lady' because she would hang beans from her fence. Exoghi has a small population and is surrounded by slopes of wild sage, thyme, mastic and cypress trees. There are many walking trails that lead further up the mountain or down. Pernarakia, above Exoghi has always been a favourite walking destination due to the immense views the location provides, not only across much of Ithaca, but also of Kefalonia and beyond. People who choose to stay in Exoghi have been known to become one with the island. Privy to a Greece rarely seen today.
