Northern Ithacas kids put on a colorful and vibrant Parade. Music reverberated off the mountains and around the Plateia and it wasn't long before Stavros was transformed into a 'kiddie Rio'

Todays Carnival in Stavros brightened up a dull, cold winters day. Everyone got into the spirit of the day by dressing up and dancing in the streets. The Parade was surely the shortest in history through the Stavros Square, a mere 100 meters, but the enthusiasm couldn't have been greater. Stavros doesn't usually have Carnival, but in protest over a Carnival issue with Vathy, the Northern villages went all out to rival their 'big smoke' cousin.
