When Yiorgos Karantzis from Spavento Bar in Kioni got a call from Vagelis Germanos' agent in regards to a performing for a series of Summer concerts around Greece, Yiorgos gathered together the community and before anyone knew it, Vagelis Germanos was before them with guitar in hand, singing songs everyone knew from his long and illustrious music career in Greece. Vagelis began his life of music in the 70's and by the 80's he and his band had gathered fans from all over Greece and had infected their psyche with songs such as SE THELO, KHPOYROS, BARAKIA and KROYAZIERA.  Ithacans came from all over to be part of this special concert by Vagelis Germanos and his guitar, who encouraged everyone to sing along.

Vagelis Germanos thrilled his fans as he played encore after encore to satisfy them.  This Greek rock icon  occasionally took a break to light a cigarette and take a sip of water, but that was the only rest he allowed himself during the 3 and half hour concert he put on for Ithaca.  When Vagelis finally finished his marathon set, he still took the time to play one more song for a young girl who asked him to. She got her wish.  Vagelis Germanos sat at the edge of the stage, serenading her away from microphones and lights. before his Ithacan fans  all stood in line to congratulate him on his performance.
