Spiros from Australia, but of Kolieri origin and Paula from South Africa and of Ag. Sarantas origin, met at Aphales Ithaca and fell in love. Today they promise to respect, love and honour each other in their married life together before family Kassiani E. Raftopoulou and Thomas and Anastasia Argyrs, wittnesses and friends, at the church in Platrithia, northern, Ithaca.. |
As Thomas Argyris and his daughter drive from home to the church, the sound of the car horns echo around the Platrithia valley. Paula, the beautiful bride, is then led to her future husband Spiros, who awaits her on the steps of the church. |
It's a big occasion for the northern villages. Spiros is son to the late Stathis Raftopoulos, Poet and respected local. His memory reverberated through conversations before, through and after the wedding, and was in the hearts and minds of those who attended. |
Papas Babbis performed the Wedding ceremony in the church on the hill at Platrithia. The day was warm and the skies were blue in celebration of another unity between man and woman who found each other on the shores of Ithaca. Spiros and Paula made a stunning couple of course in their off white wedding attire to which Spiros added his flair for colour with an orange tie. The church was full with 'well wishers', close family members, relatives, distant and near, and friends and community members who know the family. |
