Independence Day Parade 2024

Ithaca celebrated Independence Day along with the rest of Greece. It commemorates the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821. Bishop Germanos of Patras raised the flag of revolution over the Monastery of Agia Lavra and the cry “Freedom or death” became the motto of the revolution.
