Greek Easter - The Resurrection - April 15th 2023

Even if you're not religious in any way, the sermons around Ithaca for the celebration of the resurrection are always quite special visually, especially at the end of the sermon when everyone lights a candle from the candle of the priest. We headed to the mountain village of Exoghi where the small chapel had a lovely ambience for this occasion. In the low lands, fire crackers usually explode the silence in the most horrible way. The fireworks in Stavros this year, also sounded like we were in Beirut, with explosions sounding like bombs going off, even from a kilometer away.
