Good Friday - April 14th 2023

A big turnout in Kioni for Good Friday this year. A new generation of emerging adults taking over from those who have sadly left us these past few years. This year I decided not to photograph Judas in flames. I think he has been punished enough and this year's password is 'forgiveness'. The pyro enthusiasts of course, loved setting the 'stuffed with flammables' icon of Judas, on fire and huddled around the flames like moths toward the light. Few word masks this year, but many wore hoodies and scarves. It was a chilly night. Luckily without the rain that was forecast by the ever developing, but often wrong, algorithms that determine our every day more and more. Xronia Polla.
