Imagine a beautifully sunny and blue sky day. Imagine 23 degrees celcius. Imagine not having eaten meat since the beginning of Lent. Imagine lamb on the spit. If you weren't on Ithaki for Greek Easter, imagine is all you can do.
Luckily however, your imaginings can be spurred on by a few photographs from around the north island of those celebrating Greek Easter on Ithaca this year. An amazing weather day had everyone feeling very lucky and loving life!
This Easter view across north Ithaca toward Lefkas island, is surely noteworthy.
Opposite: Lazaros with his delicious lamb on the spit in Stavros.
Nearly everyone gets into the fun of dressing up and getting made up into some alter ego.
A big thanks to Forky's Theatre Group for this great annual party to let ourselves loose on.
