Friday 10th April 2015
After some very chilly nights, Good Friday wasn't too bad, still this year, there weren't alot of people making their way up to Kioni for the liturgy or the ritual (and somewhat unforgiving) burning of Judas on the wall opposite the church. Greek Easter is the biggest event on the Greek calendar. For Greece, it's like Christmas, New Years and Birthdays all put together in one. The week leading up to it, there are daily church services which all culminate on Sunday for the BIG FEAST.
The parade around the village and a few more minutes in church then ends this Good Friday celebration. Many headed to Spavento Bar, to the various restaurants and then finally home. Next is the celebration of the Resurrection.
