Papoulaki is a big celebration in the north of Ithaki. Papoulaki is the island's own Saint and thus his bones are paraded from Ag. Barbara chapel down to Sortiros Church in Stavros each year. The 2 day celebration is one of the big weekends on the calendar. Clergy from around the area come to take part, making it an even bigger occasion for the locals. It's a traditional parade with hymns sung as the bones are paraded through the village.
