Greek Easter is the largest and seemingly most significant religious celebration on the Greek Calendar. After many weeks of the Lent menu, the resurrection church service and the lighting of candles mark the end of the Easter Fast.
|
|
|
|
|
|
Before you know it, the once empty church is filled to the pews everyone trying to get nearest to the light that will eventually light the candles of all who attend. |
|
|
|
After the service, some head back to Spavento Bar, but most head to the nearest restaurant or go home to eat the traditional Margaritsa Soup made of entrails. |
