This year, the forces came together to make the Vathy Carnival a great success. The weather was fantastic, the locals were in the mood and the organizers had put their hats on to give this pre-Easter celebration a real boost. It was a family day with all the family attending, and this year, not a single drop of rain. No wonder there were smiling faces all the way to the 'body' horizon. Interesting floats for a little island, and as usual, lots of dancing and performances by the local communities who did their best to shine for their villages. Any building with a balcony and a second floor, gave great viewing positions to the quick and those with good climbing knees, but it wasn't too bad on the ground either, with tolerant people letting the occasional 'barge through', go by. |

And so another Carnival is over... almost, there's still the post carnival party in the Vathy Square for the community to enjoy tonight, kite flying and picnic in Anoghi tomorrow and another party in Perahori. The good times just keep on going on Ithaca in Winter. No wonder no one wants to be anywhere else in the world. .................
